Preschool Program

2.5 years-4 years (approximate end age)

Our Preschool program operates year-round to meet the needs of our working families. Our hours of operation are from 6:45 AM to 5:30 PM. Options available include 2 day, 3 day, or 5 days per week and half day programs. Nutritious, kid-friendly lunches, plus breakfast and an afternoon snack, are included in the cost of tuition.

Premier Preschools are dedicated to providing a balance of individual and group work, play, nutritious food, discipline, and rest throughout the day to encourage the development of the whole child. The class comes together every morning for large group time. At this time, the teacher incorporates a variety of activities, including stories, songs, games, and other learning experiences, to encourage social, emotional and cognitive growth. The students then break up into small groups to plan their activities in the practical life, math, language/reading, writing, block, art and house area for work time. Real-life materials are available in all areas of the classroom. Teachers are constantly observing children at their physical level to encourage and challenge children at their own developmental level.

To create a balance between gross and fine motor skills, each class has an outside playtime twice a day, weather permitting. The Premier Preschool playgrounds offer children a variety of play equipment to encourage large muscle development through climbing, running, jumping, pedaling, throwing, catching and crawling. After lunch, all children are required to nap or rest. During this time classical music or lullabies will be played. Each child will provide a bottom sheet and a light blanket for naptime.  Your child may also bring pillows or bedrolls, along with a favorite stuffed animal.  Please clearly label all items with your child’s name.

The High/Scope curriculum is enhanced through weekly hands-on cooking, science and art projects, as well as community visitors and service projects.
